Scenic Construction and painting/finishing
The CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Miller was used put out pillars for the frieze covering the front of the decking) from 6mm MDF and 18 mm Plywood for the more intricate elements
Various scrap 6mm and 18mm plywood and softwood was used to thicken the pillar templates before they were screwed onto the base
Laser cutting an etched pattern onto 6mm plywood to act as a cover on the frieze
Attaching various dolls to the frieze to replicate statues. As a finish, they were covered with a mixture of Idenden, sand and emulsion paint to create a stone like look.
This was then painted and sprayed with emulsion paint (Ochre and brown)
Assembling plinthes made of 18mm MDF with a 6m MDF top which were assembled using PVA Wood glue and screws. the screws were covered over with filler.
Painting and texturing the plinthes using emulsion paint. The base was made from a mix of cream and white. texture was done with Ochre and brown applied with sponges
Laser cutting the frieze decoration onto 6mm plywood to be screwed onto the plinths.
